Thames valley quilt show

I am or I will be latter on this morning at the Thames Valley Quilt Show in London today 10-4.
WOW!  It was a busy day yesterday and I am sure everyone that came to see the quilts were NOT disappointed. There is some amazing quilts, large traditional, hexagon squares(thousands of those tiny squares) to the works of art - the Banyan tree , the toad stools in the forest to the tiny bear claw quilt the little stuffed bear is holding.  But what is really amazing the wallhanging quilts of Wortley Village- that's a double WOW. There is 20 or 30 of the store fronts of the businesses in Wortley Village. They look like photographs. The detail on those wallhanging are           .
You outdid yourself ladies,  great job!
Don't miss this show, you have to come!  See you there.

Quilt made using the new fabrics 'Green Farms by Greta Lynn

 Mug rug for Easter

Ten minute table runner that takes longer than ten minutes.  For my hairdresser, Jennifer--sorry I forgot my appointment.  Happy Birthday!

Tuesday 24 March 2015

Top photo is a quilt that made using the Shannon cuddle charms plus yardage.
My nieces helped with the fabric choice and placement.  So  soft and cuddly.  Need to make another for a little boy next.

Easter fabric that was suppose to be delivered in January just in time for Easter!

The farm animal fabrics  that should have been here in February finally arrived.  But was well worth the wait.  Its like Christmas I forget what I ordered and its such  a lovely surprise.  Can't wait to make up something with it --I'm sure it will fly out!

Just a reminder that Pfaff machine prices are going up April 1st.  Some machines on sale for the month of March- little more a week to go.

Monday 16 March 2015

Here is the  almost finished St. Patrick's wallhanging.  I just have to get the last two sides of the border, but because of my finger slice I haven't done it yet.

Friday 13 March 2015

So I found out how sharp those rotary cutters can be. Just spent the afternoon in emerg.
Please be careful when using the rotary cutter, they can really slice your fingers. Once the bandages come off I may start using one. Doctor glued my finger together, it was a good clean slice.

I have finished putting the wallhaging together and almost finished the machine quilting.
I am having technical difficulties again and have not been able to upload the picture to the blog, but I will, no fear.

Thursday 5 March 2015

So here is the next block for  --you guessed it--St. Patrick Day  One for block to go, put it together and have a great wall hanging.  I will finish it this weekend during the Material Girls Retreat.

The Shannon has arrived.  15 bolts of a variety of color and 5 different 5" square packs and 3  different 10" packs.  Great to make up some cuddly quilts/blankets.
OHHH  SOOO SOFT

Wednesday 4 March 2015

Here is the next part I used invisible thread so that I didn't need to worry about the perfect match for the appliqués. Unfortunately some machines do not like that thread.   I just used a small zig zag stitch to go around each shape.
Now I need to start packing for the Material Girls Retreat in Sarnia.  I am so looking forward to this weekend.  Guaranteed fabulous fun, great companionship.  I don't want to say relaxing  because all we do is sew at least  10-18 hours per day.
